Wanted: New Bloggers Who Want More Traffic

I’m on a hunt for new bloggers. It doesn’t matter what your call yourselves….newbie bloggers, nubes, first time, infant, virgin, etc….. I have a proposition for you.

Here’s my situation:

I have a full time job and am blogging, what could be called part time, however, my time spent on blogging is steadily increasing.

Today’s Lesson

If you happened to read yesterday’s post, titled:“New Blogger Begins To Feel Like An Abandoned Dog”, you will know, I am on a mission to find new bloggers. However, I can’t do this alone. I need your help.

I need you, to help me, find you.

As a new blogger, you want to “be found”

The biggest tip I can share with new bloggers is:

Leave comments on other blogs!

I cannot stress this enough.

By leaving a comment, you are also leaving a link back to you.

It is through that link, others will find you.

Visiting, and leaving comments on other blogs, must become part of your blogging routine.

If you leave a comment on my blog, I promise to visit your blog.

Some of my other visitors will also come and visit you.

Please use this opportunity to help your new blog “get found”.

BTW: I have found my “blogger of the week” Her name is Natasha, and her blog is Natasha’s World

I have created an area at the top of my sidebar. It reads, “New Blog Of The Week”. Every Tuesday, you will see a new blog highlighted. The blog will hold the spot of “New Blog of the Week, for seven days. Please visit these new blogs, leave a comment, and remember to share words of encouragement.

Even if you do not choose to visit these new blogs on a regular basis, I’m asking my loyal readers to pay the “new blogger of the week”, one visit.

And, to my “new blogger of the week”, remember to provide my readers with fresh content, on a regular basis.

To all of you, I say thank you, in advance.

Today’s Assignment

If you are not sure how to leave a comment on this blog, I will tell you, step by step.

If you know all about how commenting works, feel free to skip this assignment, and start commenting. ๐Ÿ™‚

1) At the bottom of this post (article), is a comment section

2) Type in your name…it doesn’t have to be your full name, just the name you want to be known by, in cyberspace. I, and most of my commenters use their first name.

3) It will then ask for your email address…enter that.

4) Here’s the important part. It will ask for your website address. Type carefully

Type in: http://yourblogname.com. For mine, I type in https://bloggingwithoutablog.com

This is what creates a link back to you. After your comment is approved/posted, we can click on your name, and that will send us to your blog.

In the comment area, leave me a comment.

I don’t care if you just say, “Hi, Come and see my new blog.”

If you want to say more, please feel free to do so.

When you are satisfied with your typed comment, hit “submit”, and the comment will be sent to my “comment area” for moderation.

If it looks like you are operating a legitimate blog, I will approve your comment, and you can view it under the corresponding post.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to leave comments on other blogs. This will not only help you to grow your blog, but you will also meet great people in cyberspace.

It may sound like a daunting task, but in the end, it will pay off.

By the way, if you don’t want to leave a comment here, use this practice to visit other blogs.

Hint: Remember, if you are reading comments on other blogs, and are curious about, or like what the commenter said, if you click on the name of the commenter, you will be redirected to their blog. It’s that easy.

  3. Hi Barbara – It’s brilliant that you’re doing this. It’s a huge help to new bloggers. And Nicole’s linkblog is a great idea too.

Leaving comments on other blogs is sound advice. I seem to get quite a bit of traffic from other blogs. And I also look for new blogs to read in the comments of others.

  4. OK, newbies, you have a wonderful low-pressure invitation to leave a comment here and ease your way into the commenting world, even if you don’t really know what to say. Be sure to take advantage of it, because regular commenting is a great way to find new readers for your blog as well as new blogs to read!

    Hello Niclole,

I’m glad to hear you are sharing link love as well. If we all work together, the opportunity to grow our blogs will increase tenfold.

    Hi Catherine,

I can always count on you to share great advice.

As I travel through blogoshpere, I often see you have been on the some of the same sites I frequent too. I’ve also noticed that you are picking up more commenters, and undoubtedly a lot of that is from comment referrals.

    Hello Hunter,

You are a great example of an aggressive commenter. I love to see that in new bloggers, and I’m sure your blog is going to become popular fast.

    Welcome Zenobia,

It’s great to see you here, and commenting.

I’ve read your post on Natasha’s blog. Your writing style is super, and now it’s just a matter of consistently supplying great content, and adding commenting to your blogging routine.

  9. I have spent way too much and not enough time getting loads of information from you blog. Thanks for the thorough information and plain English. There’s nothing worse than getting blog advice in techie mumbo jumbo. I’d love to get a visit from you at Dirt & Noise!

  10. Barbara, I came here on a link pertaining to the Susan Boyle phenomenon. As a fairly new blogger I was interested in some of the side links on blogging I found here. Interesting reading – thank you for sharing your insights.

  13. Barbara
What a fabulous idea for us new bloggers!
I am learning loads, and as a newbie, I thank you for all the very useful help you provide.
At the moment I am somewhat tentative re commenting so far, as I am really just finding my writing style. Your post has certainly empowered me and I think I might give it a go . . .
    Huge thank you
    Kaye

    1. You’re welcome Kaye,

It is difficult for a new blogger to get on the “commenting” band wagon. Like you said, it takes awhile to not only find our writing style, but our voice.

      Happy Blogging Kaye.

P.S. I was on your blog and it looks fabulous.
