Picture Yourself In Her Shoes

Niche blog with photos

I love when a blogger steps outside the box and creates something original.  Whether it’s their theme, niche or what they write about, I always find it refreshing.

The author of this New Blog Of The Week (NBOTW) did just that.

She found herself a niche, and with camera in hand, documents her discoveries.

Unlike the photo blogs I showcased last week, this blogger uses pictures in her posts to compliment the story.

Recently she took a series of photos and added dialogue under each photo.  By combining the words and the pictures, she created a short story that takes her readers on a journey.

Her well researched articles that not only tell the reader where she traveled, but the history of all she has discovered.

Her fabulous posts and beautiful photographs create an experience for her readers to the extent they feel they’re right there with her.

As I scanned her archives, it was hard to chose only a few posts to highlight, but the following are some of my favorites.

  1. “Education, Conversation and the Tree People”
  2. “Envisioning The End Of Smog”
  3. Welcome to the Free Pipe Organ Recital at the First Church in Los Angeles

For those of you who haven’t found her yet, her name is Lisa, and she authors the blog, Travelin Local – “From Los Angeles to San Diego and everything in between”.

Please join me in re-welcoming Lisa Newton to the Blogging Without A Blog community. When time permits, pay her a visit, join her on a journey, leave her a comment and/or follow her on Twitter.

Welcome again, Lisa.

May your blogging journey take you to new heights.

~Barbara.

The funny thing about my blog is that while I take pictures and research, I’m learning just like the readers. I love every moment of it.

I’m so happy you enjoyed your visit to my little part of the blogging world, and to my larger part of California.

I’ll come check out your site as I’m always looking to learn how to blog outside the box if you will. I’m doing something different at simply blog, it’s called “experiemental blogging.” The idea, where blogging and living jibe. 🙂
