Blogging Happily

happy blogger

She’s a new blogger.  In fact, she recently celebrated her first month of blogging.

She’s also a happy person and as I was reading through her blog posts, it was difficult for me to just showcase three. But, the reason I showcase a new blogger is so you too, can have fun digging through their archives.

With that said, I’ve settled on the following three picks.

To recap what she learned from a month of blogging, in a post titled, “I’m Not The Only Genius: What I Learned From My First Month Of Blogging” she describes her blogging experience as such,

…for me, it’s been like walking into a really great cocktail party, the kind which you always hope for but which usually ends up just letting you down with soggy hors d’oeuvres, boxed champagne, and that guy named Bob who has permanent halitosis, a comb-over, and thinks you’re his new best friend because you said more than “Hi” to him. No, this party’s been the kind where you walk in and everyone’s someone interesting. You don’t know which conversation you want to join because all of them are good, and you spend the night chatting away with people whom you can’t believe you haven’t known your whole life.

I’ve never heard it put that way, but that is close to the truth. When we start looking for other blogs, the possibilities are endless.

Because she likes to keep a positive attitude, she often analyzes situations. In a post titled, “Why I Don’t Do Commandments” , to quote her, she says,

Now when I am confronted with decisions and must contemplate what route to take, I ask myself: “What do I really want to do?” If the answer is hard for me to reach, I rephrase the question: “What would I most regret not doing?” I usually find that I can then make a clear decision, based in love. And no guilt or fear is involved at all.

Isn’t that a great way of rephrasing the question? It give us a chance to explore ALL of the possibilities.

I also like how she concluded her “About” page. The final paragraph reads,

I write here in the belief that one person’s story (mine) is also the story of many. We learn from each other. Inasmuch as this blog is about me it’s about you, too. May you take from here your own courage to live your own happiness.

Isn’t that beautiful?

She is Chania , and her blog is My Pursuit Of Happiness

  1. Hi Barbara. I just checked out Chania’s blog and her About Page. I like what she has said regarding our negative thoughts and how we can “steer toward the negative just as surely as a car will veer toward the car wreck its driver is looking at” if we continue to focus on them. Words of wisdom.

Hi Chania 🙂 Welcome to the world of blogging.

  3. Oh, wow. This is what greeted me when I woke up this morning, and it’s the best ‘Good Morning’ ever. Thank you so much, Barbara, not only for totally making my day but for welcoming me so warmly into the blogging community and for so kindly introducing me to your friends — I don’t think I’ll ever leave this party … not that I’d want to.

It has been a remarkable first month and so heartening to see so many people trying to live genuine, honest, positive lives. I am looking forward to the future: to meeting more of these people and reading and learning from them and their stories. It can only get better.

    Thank you!!!

  9. Chania! I’ve recently adopted a philosophy about cleaning out the clutter in my life that says: “If I’ve not used it in 3 years – I don’t need it!”

It’s sometimes hard to put into practice, but I’ve been having some success creating a bit more space in my Florida condo by applying it as I’m able!

  15. Thank you all for being so supportive of my choice this week. It’s always fun for me to find someone who is new to blogging and it appears this has been a pleasant surprise for Chania.

    Chania,

It has been my pleasure to showcase your blog. As soon as I landed on it, I loved it. Your positive attitude shines through, as does your humor.

Although you didn’t have to come back and check on the comments on this post, they’re always fun to read as those in the BWAB community love to share their thoughts on my weekly pick.

I can say this, when you have time to visit other blogs, by choosing any of the readers of BWAB, you’ll find treasures galore. Those who comment here are what I think the best bloggers out there. They’re all kindhearted and caring souls who all have blogs well worth reading and subscribing to.

    I’ll see you again soon.

    Happy Blogging!

  16. Oh, another great cocktail party to go to. And here’s one based on the strength of your recommendation that I’m dying to gatecrash into it – if Chania is not at the door to greet me.

I so love her analogy. Very apt.

She’s a newbie blogger? Oh my, I sure can learn a lot from her, especially about keeping a positive spin on things.

And yeah, I’d love to rummage through her archives. “,)

  17. To all: Since I am a newbie to the world of blogging, I hope people can forgive me if I didn’t know that I was supposed to check back here and read comments (was I?). Thanks so much to all of you for all of the kind words and the visits paid today to my page. It has been such a joy an blessing to start this a month ago and watch it slowly unfold. The greatest joy (aside from being able to have fun writing almost every day) has been meeting other bloggers like you, being welcomed, and learning from you.

Inasmuch as I can, I will try to pop by your little areas of the web too and see what fun you’re getting up to.

But I just want to say thank you again for your support. And you’re welcome: always welcome to come by for visit 🙂

Chania Girl – congratulations on being chosen NBOTW! Coming from Barbara, I know that whatever she chooses as a NBOTW is excellent material!!
