  1. Brilliant idea sources!

I think we should all keep this list with a notebook or notepad file (I’m a techie kind of girl so all my notes are electronic these days). I have a lengthy list of ideas as they come to me, (in fact multiple depending on where the idea is targetted, blog, article, comission, website, etc.)

This list is a brilliant way to brainstorm even more ideas. You’d never run dry if you fill your Idea Waterfall with these primers.

  2. Rebecca,

Isn’t it amazing how ideas just “come to us”. The other night I was in bed and all of a sudden I got an idea for a post. I got up and typed it as a draft title.

When I’m driving, I use my cell phone’s recorder to document ideas.

I find if I don’t write down an idea as soon as it comes to me, I often get distracted and it leaves the brain….sometimes never to return 🙁

  3. I love and hate those sleepless nights where the ideas just keep coming. Using your phones recorder is a brilliant idea. My kids are used to me pulling over suddenly to jot down an idea when driving. I’m also notorious for having brilliant ideas while in the shower or washing dishes. When, oh when, will they invent waterproof notebooks and pens?

Don’t regret the missed ideas. I always believe that they or something better will return when you can get them down, and if they don’t then the idea wasn’t as great as it seemed anyway. If you stay open and accepting the abundance will continue and sometimes you have to let a few go because you can’t get them all down, all the time.

  4. Hi Rebecca,

I think that’s why I end up with little scraps of paper, as I get ideas when I’m getting ready in the morning, or when I’m cooking, and I grab a piece of paper, receipt, or whatever I find to write on, and scribble my thoughts.

I think you are right about the “ones that get away”. You have to make room for a bigger idea, so no sense cluttering your brain with worry.

  5. I wonder when I will run out of stuff to blog about…I do get my ideas I guess from many of the sources your listed. Sometimes I just wake up and boom, an idea hits me.

  6. Hi Natural Woman,

When I first started blogging I though the same thing. Now, 400 +/- posts later, I find myself looking for things to write about. Subjects for this blog comes easier than my OM blog.

I love those “idea” moments…they can hit at any time. We just have to remember to take advantage of them.
