I know the meaning of my name which is Jacqueline. My mother was 15 when she had me. She named me after Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis. She said she thought a lot of her. I have always thought that was sweet. My mom was so young and scared but thinking ahead. My name means may God protect. I think maybe my mother was looking out for me in the future.

Hi Robin - Enjoy!

Hi Sara - That's a pretty meaning, "Pure, Princess, Lady" for the name Sara.

Hi Caroline - Haha, "Babs". I used to have a teacher who called me that. Enjoy the other two Barbaras and thank you for the compliment. :)

Hi Barbara - You're welcome. Haha! Revenge is sweet. Do "they" know of your success? Now let's see them call you a barbarian.

Hi Kathy - Oh girl, you're good for the ego. :) Keep us posted if there will be a bambino on the way. Oh dear, what happens if it's a boy?

What a fun way to tie these two blogs together - by creating a mini "who's who" of fabulous women named Barbara!

As usual, you've found one I hadn't found before (Barbara Harsbow).

It appears that naming your daughter Barbara is one way to assure she'll excel no matter what path she chooses!

I'm convinced - but not enough to venture back into maternity wear again!:)

Thank you so much for your comments, I truly appreciate them!

Funny thing about the origins of the name Barbara - back when I was a kid, other kids (henceforth known as "pathetic life forms who made themselves feel better by teasing shy people like me) found it was defined as "Barbarian" and never let me forget it. I much prefer the definition you uncovered instead! :)

We truly are defined by how we *choose* to be.

Best wishes, Barbara
