NBOTW – Brothers Sharing Their Thoughts

They may onto something. They share a blog, each writing their insights on life.

For the “New Blog Of The Week” (NBOTW) series, this is the first duo authored blog

The authors are brothers, and introduced themselves to blogosphere at the end of April.

One brother writes a little more seriously. To quote him from his “Being Happy For Others Makes You Happy”, he says:

Consistently finding joy in the good fortune of others is a quality we should all aspire to. One that by no means comes naturally; it is the outcome of an investment of time, effort, and awareness.

In his post titled: You Are The Writer Of Your Own Story, he ends the article with these profound words:

Write the stories however you choose, but never forget who holds the pen.

The second brother likes to show humor in his posts. In a post titled: “Today’s Great Lesson In Spanish” he shares what he learned:

“I know what you did last Cinco de Mayo.”, [translating to]

“Sé que hiciste el Cinco de Mayo pasado.”

For more fun and laughs, he shares his insight in a post named ““7 Places You Should Never Stick Your Finger”, with number two being:

Inside an opened tube of Super Glue. Fight that temptation.

Nominated by Al of 7 P Productions, and also being a blog I’ve followed for some time, I find it to be an intriguing read. Each new post is always a surprise. Often I read and laugh, and other times I sit and contemplate the words.

If you haven’t joined their community, now is time you do so. The blog is named “Pun Intended” (P.I.). The authors are Bamboo Forest and his brother Flying Llama Fish.

With a tag line of “Pun Intended Is Your Playground”, you know it will be a joy to read.

Join me in re-welcoming the brothers to the BWAB community.

Hello again, Bamboo Forest and Flying Llama Fish

  1. Thank you, Barbara!

I’m so glad to see the Pun Intended boys get the attention they deserve as a NBOTW.

I’ve followed Bamboo Forest’s and Flying Llama Fish’s writing from quite early on, and I’m a huge fan.

They produce an interesting and highly ecletic mix of both humor and self improvement articles.

It is both light hearted and though provoking – in equal measure.

I really wish the boys every success as they move forward. 🙂

  2. Hi Davina,

Thank you. They are unique, aren’t they? The post “7 Places You Should Never Stick Your Finger”, had me laughing.

    Hi Scott,

You’re welcome. Like you, I think of them as a dynamic duo. A visit to their blog is always a pleasant surprise.

  3. Hi Ajith,

I agree, you’ll enjoy the humor in their blog, as well as the articles on self improvement.

Yeah! Akismet FINALLY figured out your comments aren’t spam. That’s good news.

  4. Hi Barbara. Great choice! I’ve been following their blog for a while and quite enjoy it. I remember that post “7 Places You Should Never Stick Your Finger” 🙂 They’re a unique duo.

PS:- BTW, akismet finally solved the spam mystery and my comments should not go into the spam box henceforth!

  6. Thanks for bringing these guys to my attention. I’ll have to check out some of their new stuff. It definitely seems like what makes them work is their stark differences of personality. They compliment each other nicely.

  7. Excellent choice, once again, Barbara.

Gentlemen, congratulations on this honor. Your blog is one I enjoy very much, and a lot of that has to do with the humor you inject into your posts. Your twist on things has me laughing all the time! And that’s a great thing to be able to do – make others laugh! Congratulations!

  8. They sound like they are the ying to each others yang. That’s the great part about teaming up. Two different voices makes a blog more dynamic. As long as both can stay focused they have a good chance at success.

  9. Barb,

Great pick! I have been to the site a few times, and it’s like reading good cop/better cop! These guys ARE funny.

Congratulations to the authors of “Pun Intended!” An endorsement from Barb is, as they say in French, tres cool!

  12. I’ve landed on their blog from time to time, but didn’t realize it was Bamboo Forest’s blog. Nothing like a blog that makes you laugh; it’s good for the soul!

  13. Congratulations guys! I’ve been on your blog a few times but not sure if I’ve commented yet. I like the custom theme. That’s cool.

The authors creatively find ways to lure us into their meaningful posts through capturing our imagination. I am fully caught!

  15. Excellent choice, Barbara!

I found their blog through this community weeks ago, and always enjoy the variety of their posts. Plus, I just love the “feel good” look of their site.

Congratulations P.I. — you deserve this honor!

  16. Hi Barbara – What a great choice. I’ve read the blog a couple of times and I had no idea that it was ran by two brothers – I thought it was Bamboo only.

  17. Thank you Barbara for selecting me and my brother’s blog! It is a great honor.

Thank you Al for nominating it!

Thank you all for the encouraging words!

@ Cath Lawson: Yeah, you’re not alone. Many are unaware of this. Actually – under the title of each post it says who authored the entry but in very small font, so it is easy to miss.

This is something we are going to improve upon. That being, making it so you don’t need a microscope to know who authored the specific post.

  18. I am never disappointed-
I either laugh out loud- at flyingllamafish’s perspective on the world- or shake my head at the amazing insight that Bamboo forest has of human nature. Either one- they make you feel that all is right in the world. This is the ultimate feel-good website.
I can’t imagine a universe without pun intended in it!!

  19. That story post was awesome. I stumbled across it one day. But today I subscribed to the blog. I’d almost forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder.

  20. Hi All,

Instead of sounding redundant and answering each comment, I just wanted to say, I’m so happy you all are enjoying Pun Intended. It’s a great blog that’s well worth subscribing to. Bamboo Forest and Flying Llama Fish won’t let you down. If you have a chance, dig through their archives as there’s lots of great stuff that’s buried.

And to Patti, Welcome to the BWAB community. I noticed you’re not linking to a website or blog, so I’m guessing you’re a non blogger who found, and loves Pun Intended. I hope to see you around here more often, too. 🙂

  21. Hello brothers. Glad to meet the addition, Llama, I know Bamboo (sort of).

I will be stopping by to check out your blog. E

  22. Barbara, Thank you for selecting Pun Intended as your new blog of the week! It is quite the honor.

I also want to thank everyone for the kind words!

  23. Hi Barb – little late to the party, but I’m glad to see PI as the new blog of the week! The blog brothers sure do have an entertaining site 🙂

Hi Bamboo – there is no need to thank me at all, my friend! I call them how I see them, and I’m a big fan of your blog.

  26. Barbara,
I have been to the pun blog several times and always found a laugh. Thanks for sharing this side of the blogging experience this week too.
I think it would be fun to share an experience with a partner or sibling – I wonder if it is similar to when siblings sing together and have an amazing blend through the relatedness of their sound?
Hmm a new idea comes to mind.

Thanks for the showing me the new fresh starts

  27. I have been to the PI blog quite a few times too. I like the mix of serious stuff and humour. It took me a while to work out that there were 2 authors.

Until I worked that out I used wonder how the author decided on the flavour of the post. I kind of imagined him tossing a coin heads-serious & tails-humour.

  28. Great choice! I just had a good laugh over there. Thanks Barbara! Your picks are always spot on, and great blogs to follow. Welcome aboard to the brothers 😀

  29. Oh no, I missed this post yesterday. I love the pun intended blog, it’s always so much fun to read. Congratulations Bamboo and Flying Llama Fish 🙂
