It’s All About Me – An Interview

all_about_me.png

The tag line for this blog reads, “It’s MY blog, but it’s all about YOU”. And that’s true.

I write for you, I do my best to help you, and I’m always open to questions or concerns from you.

Recently I was honored to be interviewed by Blogger Dad.

It’s all about me.

Although my “About” pages gives you some insight into who I am, Blogger Dad asked questions about me and my blogs. Here’s a sampling:

“What are the origins of your blogs?”
“What are your blogging pet peeves?”
“How has your blog helped others?”
“Who inspired you?’
“What are your plans for your blogs?”

It was a fun and thought provoking interview.

Want to know more about me? Check out the interview on Blogger Dad’s site. It’s titled:”Eight Questions – Interview with Barbara Swafford of Blogging Without a Blog”

  6. That was a very well done interview.

Nothing surprised me since it seems like I’ve watched your blog grow up and leave the nest.

I did forget that you have your other blog and I forget which I came across first, but this was the one where the fire was warm and it felt good to take my shoes off (hope you don’t mind … my socks are clean.)

The point that resonated the most is that you read between the lines. I suspect one of your strengths is empathy.

  7. A very interesting interview, Barbara.

It was great to read of how you were inspired to start blogging in the first place.

I was wondering… you mention faux painting as a hobby you have. Can I ask you what that is?

  8. I enjoyed reading the interview very much Barbara! It’s so nice to know you a little bit better.

    This was cool!

  9. I just read the interview and thoroughly enjoyed it! It’s great to hear a little more about YOU for a change.

BTW, I just noticed your Alexa rating is at 96,122. Very nice! I’m a stats junkie so I can’t help but notice. Eric.

  10. Thanks again to Barbara and to all the people who stopped by to read the interview. Thanks also for the kind words. An interview is only as good as its subject. Thanks to Barbara for being an excellent subject who provided many thoughtful answers.

  14. Barb,
Blogging Dad has a way of asking the “right questions of the right people.” When he interviewed me, he knew what he wanted to share with other people – and he did a great job!

BTW: I LOVED your answer to Cath today. An excellent response from a New Yorker who learned that lesson well!

  15. It’s amazing – I went over to Blogger Dad to read up about you and then my eyes fell on an article he wrote that I thought was rather hilarious (“A Most Embarrassing Moment”).

I enjoyed learning more about you and I get this sense that you are on a mission that few bloggers are on and that’s to specifically help new bloggers see the light of day by exposing them to your community.

When you do something like that, you open yourself for wonderful things to happen in return. I love that energy. I’m definitely contacting you for an interview – hang on……

  20. Hi Barbara
I popped over to Blogger Dad – another Blog I haven’t read before… and another one added to my reader! He has a great style and sense of humour too.

I enjoyed reading the interview, and I was particularly interested to read that you feel that you are at a cross roads. I feel that way too however my options I am considering a quite different to yours as my blog is not necessarily central to where I am heading. I wish you all the best Barbara. I am sure whatever path you choose you will be fulfilled and successful.

Now while I have the floor I need some help. The Comment Luv on my blog doesn’t seem to be working properly as just recently I have noticed that it does not pick up the most recent post. Can you or anyone help me to fix this?

  21. me again……..Maybe your Comment Luv isn’t working properly either as my last post didn’t appear at the bottom of my comment

  23. Hi J.D. – Sure, you can visit here and take your shoes off. You can even put your feet on the coffee table. 🙂 You’re right, I do try to have empathy for others.

Hi Lance – Thanks. It was fun to do, too.

Hi Scott – Faux painting is the art of using paint (in a house, mostly) to create different effects, such as marble, granite, concrete blocks, venetian plaster, or a “wallpaper” effect. I like it as it brings out another creative side of me.

Hi Eric – I didn’t realize my Alexa rating dropped below 100,000. I used to be a stataholic, but now only check my stats about every other day. I forget about page rank and Alexa, though.

Hi Blogger Dad – You’re very welcome. That was a blast, and brought up great memories of those beginning days.

Hi Chris – Thank you. By helping others, I get to learn more, too, so it’s a win-win. 🙂

Hi Miguel – You’re welcome. In case you missed the link, the signature is from livesignature.com

Hi Wendi – Glad to hear you like the other blog. It gives me a chance to share tips and ideas from my real life.

Hi Jennifer – YES! I read your interview. It’s fantastic. I’m waiting to see part two of yours.

Hi Avani – That introduction left me speechless.

Hi Stephen – Welcome to the BWAB community. Yes, Blogger Dad’s embarrassing moment post is precious. He loves to make his readers laugh.

Yes, I do try to help new (and some not so new) bloggers. Blogosphere can be a lonely world, and I don’t want anyone to ever feel isolated. Re: your email; I’ll be in touch with you soon.

Hi Vered – The interview will tell you a little bit more. Enjoy!

    Hi Tom – You’re welcome.

Hi Dave Fowler – Thank you for the kind words.

Hi Rita – I agree, Blogger Dad is great with those individualized questions.

Hi Tammy – You’re welcome. Glad you liked the interview.

Hi Leanne – I think you’ll love Blogger Dad’s humor. Thank you for the encouragement.

I had been noticing that with CommentLuv, too. Andy Bailey, the developer, popped in last Friday (see the comment section) and suggested reloading (download/upload) the plugin. I think mine is working correctly now (when I comment on other blogs). As soon as I have a chance, I’ll do a little digging into your problem and see what I can find.

Hi Maya – Haha! I can’t wait to see what happen next, either.

    Hi Ajith – Thank you!

Hi Stacey – Enjoy the interview.

Hi Linda Abbit – Now you know a couple of my pet peeves. As much as I try to be optimistic, I don’t like thieves or disrespect.

Thank you for your offer of help. I appreciate that.

Hi Dr. Nicole – You’re welcome, and thank you for your kind words.

Hi SpaceAgeSage – Thank you. I agree, crossroads ARE fun places to be. You’ll all see it happen, as it happens.

    Hi Evelyn – Enjoy!

  24. Great to know your life (beyond blogging) better Barbara. I shall remember the second part (slamming others) of Answer #9 when I post next :). I am not the one who do it often though.

    Cheers,

Stephen – Thank you. I responded to your post over at my blog. Thanks again for stopping by.

    Rita – Thank you.

  26. Hi Barbara,

I can’t believe you were actually *negative* about something in that interview. Kudos to Blogger Dad for coming up with that question. 🙂

Also, it will be interesting to see where you go when you pass the crossroads you feel you are at now. If I can help in any way, don’t hesitate to ask! I’d love to give back to you in some way for all you’ve given me and everyone here at BWAB.

P.S. I don’t get the new CommentLuv either — it’s been at the same TLeC post for a week now. Huh?
