It’s Moving Day

During my blogging journey I realized how difficult it is to get found in blogosphere.

With millions of blogs on the world wide web, we can easily begin to feel like a tiny pebble in a gigantic ocean. With any luck, our blog will be one that gets discovered, however until that happens we can spend countless hours trying to get our name β€œout there”.

In October of 2008 I created the Blog Registry. It started with one lone comment and now sports the names and stories of over 270 bloggers. Some are blogging as strong as ever, whereas others have given up.

Although the Blog Registry was originally housed on this blog, with it’s continuing growth, I felt it was time to give it a home of it’s own.

Hence, the “Free Blog Registry” was born.

If you have a chance, check out the new home I’ve created for blog authors to showcase their blogs, as well a great place to meet other bloggers.

If you haven’t done so already, feel free to add your name to the growing list. Just click on the above image or the link at the top of the sidebar and follow the instructions.

If you’d like to leave a comment with regard to the Free Blog Registry, please do so below since the Free Blog Registry is exclusively for blog submissions only.

My next lesson will be published on Wednesday, September 8th, 2010.

Happy Blogging!

~Barbara

P.S. If you’re in the States, I hope you’re enjoying the Labor Day holiday.

  5. Hi Barbara,

One day several, several months ago, I was researching ways to get more people to visit my blog. Back then, I had very few visitors or commenters and, as I was knew to blogging, I didn’t know what to do.

I don’t remember exactly what I typed in, but the search result lead me to the Blog Registry on your blog. I thought it was brilliant, so I left a comment and that is how I found your blog, and began reading your posts!

How wonderful that the Registry has evolved under your careful guidance and has become the great site it is today πŸ˜€

    1. Thank you Sam,

I remember reading your entry on the Registry. I’m happy to hear that’s how you found me, and in return, I hope the registry is how others find you. πŸ™‚

  6. Hi Barbara,

That is so cool how the blog registry evolved. Ever since I discovered your site, I have always wanted to register my blog but never did because I felt that my site was a work in progress. I don’t feel that way any longer so I am going to go register.

Thank you for creating such a resource!

    Have a wonderful day!

  7. Hi Barbara,
This is so awesome! You know long back, when I first came to your site…I tried registering, but it just wouldn’t accept. I don’t know why? But now…with the new home…I’m sure it will accept πŸ™‚ I am off to your lovely blog registry to sign up. Woohooo!
    Much Love,
    Z~

    1. Hi Zeenat,

I’m not sure why your entry didn’t show up previously. I’m guessing your comment ended up in my spam folder and I missed it. I’m carefully monitoring all comments on the Free Blog Registry, so when you add your name, I’ll be sure to see it.

  8. Hmmmm…. how clever and a very cool way to see who is actually reading your blog! Of course, I registered and my hat is off to you for being very resourceful. Congrats!!! πŸ˜€

  9. Barbara I’ve finally made it over to the Blog Registry.

It is beautiful! You’ve outdone yourself… as always πŸ™‚ What a wonderful, generous soul you are. You’ve got style and grace and… “something” special. What a super way to support other bloggers.

  10. Barbara,

This is good time for me to see the Blog Registry again. I well remember signing up. It saddens me to see how many people I loved to follow are not writing anymore. I suppose it happens, but it is still sad.

I looked back at my history and realized that as of February, I will have been blogging for almost four years. My first couple of years, I had almost NO comments, except the family and friends I bribed to fill out a comment.

Your site has meant so much to me because I’ve learned from you and from the people leaving comments at your site. If I run across a newbie in blogging, I always refer them to you and your site. There’s no better way to get started in the journey called blogging than a visit to Barbara. Thanks, friend:~)

  11. You’re welcome Sara,

You and I have been blogging about the same length of time. The end of March marks four years for me. Wow. Can you believe we’ll soon be starting year five? We’re like old timers. 8)

Like you, even though I understand, it also saddens me when I see a blogger give up blogging.

Thank you for your kind words Sara and your continued support. I am truly grateful.
