A lot of blogs use tag clouds, or word tags at the bottom of each post. Are tag clouds or word tags necessary to drive more traffic to your site? I’ve done a small amount of research, and it appears the verdict is still be out on this matter.

Some of my favorite blogs, which have high readerships, use word tags, but others don’t.

I’m still not convinced that tagging is worth the time and effort. hence, I have decided not to use word tags or tag clouds in my blogs. I’m trying to keep my blogs “neat” looking, and feel that adding the tags or tag clouds, will only clutter up my pages and posts.

I may kick myself later for not adding the tags and/or tag clouds, however, at this time I’m not finding enough evidence to justify spending the time to do so.

Am I wrong?
