Today I have something for everyone.

First, to recap the week,

1) On Monday we talked about our online presence. That is, how do others “see” us. As witnessed in the comment section, our words hold more power than even a picture could.

2) Sunil, and his blog “Blogger’s Lab” was introduced on Tuesday.

3) On Wednesday I shared a sampling of favorite posts which are currently buried in the archives of some of the BWAB bloggers.

4) Yesterday we banned together to help Chase March who is struggling to build his blog. The ideas and suggestions shared in the comment section prove to be great ways for anyone to build their readership.

Joanna Young of Confident Writing showcased a free ebook written by Chris Brogan. It’s titled: “Personal Branding for the Business Professional”. Having read it (it’s 15 pages), I found it’s not only helpful to business people, but for bloggers as well. It’s a great read and would certainly add value to your library of blogging books.

Now for the Monthly Mini Meme (MMM). Remember this one? I share one random thing about myself and you’re invited to do the same. It’s my way of sharing a little more about me, and us learning more about you, too.

My random fact is: I’ve lived in six states. Of those, I lived in two, twice. They are: Michigan, Illinois, California (x2), Alaska (x2), Washington, and Oregon.

Today’s Assignment

1) Share a random fact about yourself

and/or

2) Share your answer to my question:

Do you use Twitter? If so, what are the pros and cons?

The floor is yours. You know the rules.

Questions, comments and concerns are welcome.

Have Fun!

Keep it Clean!

And don’t forget to either check the “subscribe to comments on this post” box, or subscribe to my comments RSS feed (upper right sidebar), so you can follow along.

It’s Friday, the weekend is just around the corner, so let’s have some fun today.

As some of you know, two months ago I started the Monthly Mini Meme (MMM) series. Each month we share one random thing about ourselves. It’s a way to let others into your life, and in turn, we learn a little more about our favorite bloggers.

In addition to the MMM series, I’m having “Open Mic” today. If you have a question, comment or concern about blogging, please feel free to leave a message in the comment section.

Rita asked if the readers of Blogging Without A Blog (BWAB) could ask questions to Lorelle (of Lorelle on WordPress) for her next appearance. If you have a question for Lorelle, that too, can be left in the comment section. I’ll gather all of the questions. When Lorelle returns (in 4-6 weeks), we’ll get her answer(s).

Today’s Assignment

1) Share one random thing about yourself that others in blogosphere don’t already know about you.

2) Leave a question, comment and/or concern you have about blogging, and/or leave a question for Lorelle’s next appearance.

The last time we did this, several of you had concerns with regard to blog maintenance/behind the scenes “stuff”. Both John Hoff and Hyrcan were kind enough to help with the technical questions.

O.K. I’ll start. Here’s my “Mini Meme”

I have a pen “fetish”. If I don’t like how a pen “flows”, I won’t use it, no matter what the price. I have been known to go to an office supply store and try dozens of pens to find just the right one(s). Years ago my favorite was the Bic Stick (it is yellow and cost $0.39). It had to be “fine”. My current favorite pen is the Pilot(R) G-2(TM) Retractable Gel Ink Rollerball Pens, Fine Point, 0.7 mm. I’m the same way with lead pens. I only like the ones that are 7 mm (very thin lead). Ironically, my husband and one of our daughters has the same “fetish”.

Now the floor is yours.

Have fun! Keep it clean!

Another month is upon us, and it’s time for BWAB’s Monthly Mini Meme (MMM).

For those of you who missed the first edition of this series, the floor (comment section) is open to all readers to share one random fact about themselves.

I started this series as a way for others to learn more about me, and for me and the others in the community to learn a little more about you.

Here’s mine.

Being the baby of the family had some advantages for me, but disadvantages as well.

My siblings were talkers. They talked non-stop. If our parents weren’t around, when I spoke up, my siblings would either interrupt me, or make me feel inferior. Hence, I didn’t talk much.

Once when an aunt and uncle were visiting from the West Coast (we lived in the Midwest) my aunt was observing her nieces and nephews. After a long period of time had passed, she pointed at me and asked another relative, “Is that little one mute?”

I learned of this years later. That aunt is a favorite of mine. Now when we’re together, she can’t get me to shut up.

Now it’s your turn…….

When I first started blogging I would see the word “meme”.

Not knowing what it meant, I looked it up.

Wikipedia says:

A meme (pronounced /meem/)[1][rhymes with dream] consists of any unit of cultural information, such as a practice or idea, that gets transmitted verbally or by repeated action from one mind to another……

When you hear the word meme, it’s often in conjunction with the phrase, “I was tagged”. That means the blogger was “tagged” (as in the game of tag) and it’s now time for the “taggee” (is that a word?) to share five, seven or ten random things about themselves that no one (in blogosphere) knows.

It’s an interesting concept, and teaches the readers of a blog a little more about the author.

Today’s Lesson

I’ve been asked several times if I wanted to participate in a meme. I’ve always said I wasn’t interested.

Memes aren’t conductive to a lot of blogs, and at the time I turned down the offers, I didn’t feel they would be a good fit for mine.

Now that my readership is growing and more of my visitors are commenting, I decided to put my own spin on a meme.

If this is well received, it will be my first “Monthly Mini Meme” (MMM).

Instead of exposing numerous things about myself, each month I will share one random thing (about myself), and will be asking my readers to do the same.

So here goes…..

I’ve never given birth to a child but I have kids and grandkids.

To explain…I am married to the father of four children who have blessed us the 13 grandchildren.

Our grandchildren range in age from 22 to 4.

Today’s Assignment

Now it’s your turn.

What’s one thing about yourself no one in blogosphere knows (yet)?

You’ve got the floor. Have fun!
