I’m on a hunt for new bloggers. It doesn’t matter what your call yourselves….newbie bloggers, nubes, first time, infant, virgin, etc….. I have a proposition for you.
Here’s my situation:
I have a full time job and am blogging, what could be called part time, however, my time spent on blogging is steadily increasing.
Today’s Lesson
If you happened to read yesterday’s post, titled:“New Blogger Begins To Feel Like An Abandoned Dog”, you will know, I am on a mission to find new bloggers. However, I can’t do this alone. I need your help.
I need you, to help me, find you.
As a new blogger, you want to “be found”
The biggest tip I can share with new bloggers is:
Leave comments on other blogs!
I cannot stress this enough.
By leaving a comment, you are also leaving a link back to you.
It is through that link, others will find you.
Visiting, and leaving comments on other blogs, must become part of your blogging routine.
If you leave a comment on my blog, I promise to visit your blog.
Some of my other visitors will also come and visit you.
Please use this opportunity to help your new blog “get found”.
BTW: I have found my “blogger of the week” Her name is Natasha, and her blog is Natasha’s World
I have created an area at the top of my sidebar. It reads, “New Blog Of The Week”. Every Tuesday, you will see a new blog highlighted. The blog will hold the spot of “New Blog of the Week, for seven days. Please visit these new blogs, leave a comment, and remember to share words of encouragement.
Even if you do not choose to visit these new blogs on a regular basis, I’m asking my loyal readers to pay the “new blogger of the week”, one visit.
And, to my “new blogger of the week”, remember to provide my readers with fresh content, on a regular basis.
To all of you, I say thank you, in advance.
Today’s Assignment
If you are not sure how to leave a comment on this blog, I will tell you, step by step.
If you know all about how commenting works, feel free to skip this assignment, and start commenting.
1) At the bottom of this post (article), is a comment section
2) Type in your name…it doesn’t have to be your full name, just the name you want to be known by, in cyberspace. I, and most of my commenters use their first name.
3) It will then ask for your email address…enter that.
4) Here’s the important part. It will ask for your website address. Type carefully
Type in: http://yourblogname.com. For mine, I type in http://bloggingwithoutablog.com
This is what creates a link back to you. After your comment is approved/posted, we can click on your name, and that will send us to your blog.
In the comment area, leave me a comment.
I don’t care if you just say, “Hi, Come and see my new blog.”
If you want to say more, please feel free to do so.
When you are satisfied with your typed comment, hit “submit”, and the comment will be sent to my “comment area” for moderation.
If it looks like you are operating a legitimate blog, I will approve your comment, and you can view it under the corresponding post.
I cannot stress enough how important it is to leave comments on other blogs. This will not only help you to grow your blog, but you will also meet great people in cyberspace.
It may sound like a daunting task, but in the end, it will pay off.
By the way, if you don’t want to leave a comment here, use this practice to visit other blogs.
Hint: Remember, if you are reading comments on other blogs, and are curious about, or like what the commenter said, if you click on the name of the commenter, you will be redirected to their blog. It’s that easy.

Hi. I'm Barbara Swafford and I'd like to welcome you to Blogging Without A Blog. Grab a seat, share your thoughts and join in the conversation.

Recently, I noticed that Catherine, had added a new plugin to her great business blog.
It is called “Comment Luv”
The Comment Luv plugin, when activated, inserts a link to your most recent post, when you leave a comment on a blog that has the CommentLuv plugin activated.
Today’s Lesson
I have been analyzing the CommentLuv plugin to determine if it will, indeed, bring traffic to my blog,
Based on my stats, since Catherine activated it on her blog, I am seeing my referral traffic, from Catherine’s site, increase.
Here’s how the plugin works:
1) I leave a comment on Catherine’s blog.
2) I check the box that reads “enable CommentLuv” (if it’s not already checked)
3) After I hit “submit” or “submit comment”, a link is created, at the bottom of my comment, to the most recent post I have published.
4) Readers of Catherine’s blog comments, can click on the link, and come and visit my blog.
It doesn’t get much easier than that.
But….it gets even better.
Here’s another example.
Let’s say that you publish a new post every day. And…….being the loyal visitor that you are, you visit and comment on my blog posts every day. For each day you comment, a different link is created. On Monday, the link is to the post you published on Monday, on Tuesday, the link under your comment is to the post you published on Tuesday, and so on……..
How cool is that?
That, to me, is a priceless way of letting others know about your new posts.
Even Google may not update your site that quickly.
The CommentLuv plugin, is a real keeper.
Since we have been learning about the importance of commenting. over the past two days, the Comment Luv plugin becomes the icing on the cake.
Think about this: This plugin is a win-win.
Blog authors may see an upsurge of comments, and commenters should see an increase of referral traffic to their blogs.
Having seen the results of this plugin, I now have it activated on my blog.
Leave a comment, and see it in action, for yourself.
Thank you Catherine, for introducing me to this great plugin!
