When you receive a comment on your blog, and the author makes a typo, should you correct the error?

If the author of the comment, uses improper grammar, should you change it?

If the author of the comment, forgets to capitalize the first letter of a sentence, should you correct it?

I have read many comments on other blogs. Some of the comments contain errors, others look pretty good.

I have left comments on other blogs, and later, noticed I made a type. Some are corrected, some are not.

I get comments on my blogs. Some authors have made typos, or small errors in their grammar.

I edit the comments.

I do it as a courtesy to the authors, of the comments, I receive. I’m very grateful for the time they took to leave a comment. To edit any errors I may find, is my small way of saying thank you, for visiting my site.

What do you do?

Edit the comments you receive?

Leave them, as is?

Should you monetize your blog, by inserting ads? Or should your blog be free of ads?

Should you insert ads as soon as you set up your blog? Or, should you wait until your readership increases, and then add Google AdSense, affiliate ads, etc?

Most bloggers do write, because they love to. Bloggers are sharing what they know for free.

Monetizing a blog can help to cover some of your overhead. However, making money from inserting ads, is no guarantee that the amount you make, will even begin to cover what you have spent.

When bloggers look at their overhead, a lot of them are not “putting a price” on their time. Is your time worth anything? Does what you share have value?

If you find a good blog, the information that is provided, can have a lot of value. Reading a good blog, is like reading a good book that made the New York Times best seller list. If you were to buy a book, you could spent $20.00 +/-. But, if you are reading a blog with great information, it is free to the reader.

So, my question to you, my readers is…..

1) Should you monetize your blog from the start?

2) Should you first gain readership, before inserting ads?

3) Or…..should a blog be ad free?

What is a favicon?

To quote Wikipedia.org

A favicon (short for ‘favorites icon’), also known as a website icon, a page icon or an urlicon, is an icon associated with a particular website or webpage.

Where do you see a favicon? You will see it at the beginning of the URL (in your search bar), when you land on a page of a website or blog, where one has been created. It’s actually a very small picture, logo, or whatever the author of the site, chooses.

While I was visiting one of my Blogging Buddies, Nelson at Help Desk Geek, I noticed that he had a favicon. Since he is an expert in computers, I asked him if he would share, with the rest of us, how to create a favicon. He graciously complied, and produced an excellent post detailing how to make your own favicon. To read his post, click on this link: How To Create a Favicon For Your Blog

When you are visiting his site, take note of his favicon. It’s a photo of himself.

How cool is that?

So far, I haven’t ventured into the direction of creating a favicon for my blogs, but when the time arises, I know just where to go, to get detailed instructions.

Thank you again, Nelson!
